Not much has changed

I've continued adding to our Christmas decor... it's a compulsion. I must buy some new holiday tchotchke everywhere I go. Nothing matches because I didn't have a plan going into it. I've ended up with a crazy hodgepodge of random frippery (I just found that word and dammit, I like it).

The neighborhood has not yet caught on to my enthusiasm. They probably all get together and wonder about me. Maybe there's an unspoken no-lights agreement on my block that I'm violating. At least my next-door neighbors will stand by me with their happy little tree.

The Saddest Block

Next year, I'm stringing lights up that post and maybe even into the branches of that tree.

Looks great Cindy! I have found one completely random house here that I walk by on my way to Dutch class that belongs on 34th street in Hampden. I need to bring my camera! It's so out of place! We miss home!

I think your lights are lovely -- very festive. Screw the neighbors...except the happy tree people. They can stay.

I was thinking of you when I saw a VERY decorated street tree! it's at the corner of E. Baltimore and N. Highland. It has lights, garland AND ornaments!! You've got to see it!

Molly - I'd love to see those pictures!

Thank you, Carol. Some of our neighbors have decorated Christmas trees in their living rooms that we can sort of see from outside, but I want LIGHTS OUTSIDE, DAMMIT!

Summer - I totally saw that family decorating that tree! I think it was on Sunday... and I told Brian that I really wanted to be friends with them. There were about 5 adults on shaky ladders and 10 kids running around... so much fun.
